European success of Slovak photographers
Three prominent Slovak photographers and members of Professional Photographers Federation of Slovak republic, Ivan Caniga, Martin Vrabko, Filip Kulisev, was awarded with European certificate and title QEP (Qualified European Professional Photographer) in May 19, 2008 in London. They were awarded by Federation of European Professional Photographers (FEP) including 22 countries among them 17 member states of European Union. This European qualification is based on the long established British system of qualification for professional photographers. To date, the FEP has conferred this truly international qualification on 232 photographers coming from 20 European countries , Australia and New Zealand.
Martin Vrabko, QEP
Martin Vrabko succeeded in categories Portrait and Advertising. „It wasn´t very easy, because international jury judged in all categories 12 photographies. Judging is always anonymous and must fulfill strict professional criteria“, added Martin Vrabko.
Filip Kulisev, QEP
Filip Kulisev was awarded in category Landscape. He perceives this success as an good example for other Slovak photographers. „It isn´t only our personal success, but I see it as opening doors for the others Slovak photographers to become more visible at least at European level.“
Ivan Caniga, QEP
„The QEP label is given in various specialisations such as Wedding, Portrait, Reportage, Architecture, Advertising, Illustration, etc. I´m happy for success in categories Portrait and Illustration“, said Ivan Caniga.
Prestigeous contest, The Most Beautiful Calendar of Slovakia 2008, registered in 16th edition record attendance of exhibitors and calendars. Organisers accepted 88 desk, wall, poster and other types of calendars from 59 exhibitors, which competed in 17 categories. The extraordinary tough competition was in categories of Author and Business calendars. The jury awarded following calendars:

In category Author calendars jury appreciated Ivan Caniga – Dimension of shapes for professional performed photographies and graphic adaptation of calendar.
In category Free purchasable calendars succeeded Filip Kuliev – Amazing Planet.
In category Card calendars was awarded Jan Miskovic „MISIAK“ - Donovaly.
